Why Ukrainian architects are still trying to copy architecture from abroad instead of thinking globally and designing locally? Why is German architecture in a deep crisis currently? How does Japanese conceptual way of thinking might prevent us from repeating the European mistakes? What is the potential of Ukraine, the country which has everything ahead?

Let's talk about how should a contemporary architect think nowadays?

Oleksandra Nikitenko is an аrchitect, curator and teacher. Oleksandra studied at Dessau International Architecture School (DIA), Germany thanks to an educational scholarship DAAD. The geography of Oleksandra's work experience varies from Kyiv (ZOTOV&CO) and Berlin (Christian Kerez AG and June14 Meyer-Grohbrügge&Chermayeff) to Tokio (Junya.Ishigami+Associates). Oleksandra collaborated with the team lead by Junya Ishigami upon the Gund Hall, Harvard Graduate School of Design expansion.
