TOPIC/GOAL
Urban Revitalization refers to a set of initiatives aimed at reorganizing an existing city structure, particularly in neighborhoods in decline due to economic or social reasons. The main goal of the event is to share best practices on urban revitalization in US, to develop the projects to revitalize downtown areas in Kyiv, and to build new connection between policy makers, urban designers and entrepreneurs. The follow-up workshop will help participants to generate new ideas and to discuss them deeply, so they may implement their projects in future.

CURATOR
As a design architect and co-leader for SmithGroupJJR's national urban design practice, Dan Kinkead brings nearly 20 years of experience in urban design, adaptive reuse, and mixed-use development. His work integrates intuitive creativity and analytical methods to yield transformative impacts for clients, stakeholders, and cities across the globe. From strategic plans, to the design and implementation of mixed-use, hospitality, adaptive reuse, and institutional projects, Dan works closely with his clients to ensure outcomes that are as enduring as they are beautiful.
